Life Is In The Making

Scrolling has become deeply addictive. With just a swipe of our thumbs, we’re met with endless content: new stories, new lives, new things to react to. But this constant speed and stimulation slowly leave us mentally tired and disconnected. Overstimulated, even. Some studies suggest that our daily screen time can add up to the equivalent of six months a year. Over time, we find ourselves scrolling through other people’s lives while drifting further away from our own, sometimes feeling lost, unsure of what we truly want and what is simply algorithmically fed to us. In this endless stream, it becomes harder to feel present in our own lives.

Reclaiming our way of being becomes an intentional practice, then. It doesn’t mean stopping everything all at once or rejecting algorithms entirely. It can begin gently, by choosing to move more mindfully and with intention. Instead of defaulting to our phones, we can let our hands do something else: create, explore, and reconnect through small, creative projects that bring us back into the present moment. In a creative reset, there is no pressure to be good or productive. What matters is simply making and allowing ourselves to fully experience the process. Through slow, hands-on creation, we begin to notice what we enjoy, what excites us, and what feels natural. These small discoveries quietly reconnect us with ourselves, without judgment or expectation.

It might start as something simple: reducing brain rot or finding a new way to spend our time. Some call it being more analog. But over time, these mindful practices become something deeper. Through the act of making, we learn about ourselves, build awareness, and slowly shape who we are becoming. Because in the end, life is always in the making, and so are we!

So, what creative analog project would you pick up in 2026? It could be tufting, drawing, starting your own blog to write.. anything that feels right for you.
