Choose The Right Design Before You Tuft
- Start with a simple designs! Choose patterns with clean lines and large color blocks for an easier tufting experience (remember, we want a fun and relaxing activity, not a stressful one!)
- Choose a square or rounded design. Designs with too many sharp edges can be tricky to finish neatly.
- Stick to straight lines at first. Once you get comfortable and got the hang of it, you can experiment with details.
Master the Tufting Gun
- Always move from bottom to top. The tufting gun only works in one direction and if you against it, you risk tearing your fabric.
- Apply consistent pressure by gently pushing the tufting gun against the fabric
- Moving too fast is not good, and neither is moving too slow, so always maintain a steady speed.
- Take it easy, you can always practice first outside of your design first.
